Total set to commence operations on Ikike field

The French energy giant recently announced that operations are likely to commence on the Ikike field offshore Nigeria, later this year.

The oil firm, in its yearly filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated that it expects to start up its Ikike field by the end of 2021 and will drill a number of exploration wells across its African portfolio.

It will be recalled that total took its Final Investment Decision (FID) regarding the Ikike field around January 2019. the new field will be tied back to existing Amenam field.
